Ingredient Shopping Guide from Seahorse Organics
Know what you are putting on and in your body
Science used to teach that your skin was a barrier to protect you; it was thought that nothing could penetrate your skin. Now we know skin is an organ and bad chemicals can and do enter our bloodstreams through out skin. These chemicals are often the ingredients in common products you encounter every day but you need to learn to avoid them.
In general, you should be able to pronounce and recognize an ingredient. If it sounds like a chemical it isn’t something you want. This is an alphabetized list of ingredients you should avoid in your health and beauty products. In order to minimize this list, ingredients with numbers in them, for example PEG 20, and anything with an “eth” in the name, such as ethyl or methyl have not been listed. Avoid numbers and avoid “eth.” Check the ingredients in the product you want against this list. Read and be curious. Knowledge is healthy! Who has time for this? You do. It’s your life. Protect yourself and your family by choosing the best products for a long, healthy life.
